Hana Japanese Eatery

Hana Japanese Eatery is among our favorite restaurants at RLAZ. Lori Hashimoto and her team are committed to preserving and sharing authentic, traditional Japanese cuisine.  They get their hands on some of the best ingredients directly from Japan.  They only deal with high-quality and celebrate the seasonal.  What's the best way to attack the menu? Let your knowledgeable server know you're up for an adventure and let them show you the way.  Another great perk about Hana is that it's BYO. Miracle Mile Deli

A Phoenix staple for 65 years, Miracle Mile Deli holds a very special place in our hearts.  Known for their "greatest hits", sandwiches like the Straw and the New Yorker have charmed locals and reminded us what a sandwich should really taste like.  Family owned and operated, George and Jill Garcia, along with son Josh Garcia have brought this old-school favorite into the current day.  They have expanded their operation to include a breakfast menu and beyond, but they are sticking to their roots with an understanding that quality ingredients, paired with true passion, yields absolute success. * Host Joanie Simon ate at Miracle Mile Deli before recording the very first episode of Restaurant Live AZ!  She considers the restaurant a good luck charm. Proof Canteen

Proof Canteen is perfect any time of day.  Their decadent breakfast/brunch is perfectly punctuated with one of our favorite Bloody Marys in town.  Lunch ranges from comforting sandwiches, high-quality, vegetable forward entrees to their famed pretzel knots with cheese sauce.  Because this restaurant is nestled into the Four Seasons Troon North Scottsdale Resort, dinner can be an easy casual meal, or a celebratory event.  Dress it up or dress it down, Proof is highly recommended for parties, particularly because of their wide variety of craft beers and homemade ice creams, as well as a beautiful, open dining room. Southern Rail

Chef Justin Beckett's 2nd restaurant encapsulates a lot of history.  For one, the building used to be the Phoenix dining landmark, Beefeaters.  After years standing vacant as an eyesore to Camelback Road, Justin and his team carefully rebuilt it and brought it back to life in 2014.  When you visit Southern Rail today, you can see the original Beefeaters chandeliers, booths and a lot of reclaimed wood.  The other major dose of history is in the food that they serve.  The flavors of the American South come compliments of years of research taken on by Chef Beckett.  Leaving no stone unturned, from the grits to the fried green tomatoes, each an inspiration from Chef's travels and lifelong passion for celebrating the South.
